Critical Care Transport, Post-Associate Certificate

Overview

The Critical Care Transport Paramedic Program is a clinical pathway designed to prepare Combat Paramedics for Multi-Domain Operations and Independent Duty. By connecting standard emergency medicine with advanced enroute critical care, the program equips paramedics with the clinical reasoning necessary to sustain patients in aerial and austere environments. The curriculum combines classroom instruction in pharmacology and pathophysiology with clinical rotations in hospital intensive care units and air ambulance observations. This training concludes with an operational phase focused on equipment proficiency and preparation for the Flight Paramedic Certification (FP-C) exam.

This program is specifically designed as a post-associate certificate awarded upon successful completion of the CAHS Associate of Science in Emergency Medical Services. While core competencies remain consistent, students who have completed this degree are eligible for the Post-Associate Certificate in Critical Care Transport, while other qualified students may earn 12 semester hours of academic credit.
