FAM 3160 Health Equity Selective
This rotation will use participatory, experiential and independent learning to teach about health disparities and ways to address social determinants of health to advance health equity. Online modules from AAFP’s the EveryOne Project and Health Equity Toolkits will be utilized, and experiential learning will occur at local community centers. Students will be assigned either case reviews to identify bias or a reflective writing. Weekly small groups will discuss modules, cases and clinical experiences. The goal is for USU students to gain deeper knowledge and understanding of health disparities and to develop skills in addressing social determinants of health to improve health equity
