FKA 216 Forensic Dentistry
The forensic dentistry portion of the 2-year residency program consists of a combined didactic and laboratory course. Lecture topics include introduction to the forensic sciences, postmortem dental examination, ante mortem dental record reconstruction, special investigations, history of military involvement in mass disasters, overview of the port mortuary, expert legal testimony, and human bite-mark analysis. The laboratory exercises include human bite-mark analysis and a mass disaster exercise in which the residents work in teams to use dental analysis to identify the victims.
