MCB 901 Research in Molecular and Cellular Biology
The MCB901 credits are acquired by the student for doing research work. Before a student starts his/her dissertation work, these credits are awarded based on the research done during the lab rotations. Each graduate student in the MCB program will be required to do at least two laboratory rotations each under the supervision of a different MCB faculty member (rotation advisor) starting from the semester of his/her first year. The rotations will be chosen by the student and are subject to approval by the supervising faculty member and the program director. Each lab rotation will be no more than 12 weeks long and each student is expected to spend a minimum of 12 hours per week in the lab, in addition to enrollment and attendance in scheduled graduate courses. At the completion of each rotation, the student must summarize his/her research work either by an oral or written presentation. The format of the presentation will be determined by the faculty rotation advisor.
