MPO 610 Dissertation Seminar
The dissertation is a teaching tool for learning first-hand the steps involved in the development of knowledge and the evaluation of new ideas. Completing a dissertation is a foundational component of being a scientist-practitioner. Using a sound scientific approach, and learning the benefits and limitations of such knowledge first-hand, is the crux of the dissertation requirement. By the end of the course, students will be able to: 1) Apply knowledge of sound research methodology to the design and composition of their dissertation proposals; 2) Critically review and provide constructive feedback to their peers on their dissertation proposals; 3) Obtain committee approval for and successfully defend their dissertation proposals.
