RBB 501 Comprehensive Dentistry 1
This course provides instruction and clinical experience in comprehensive care, i.e., three or more dental disciplines involved. Residents learn to manage patient care using an interdisciplinary approach from treatment planning through completion of treatment. Presentations and clinical demonstrations on treatment planning, sequencing and/or coordination of treatment, and operative dentistry techniques and dental materials are provided by consultants and teaching staff in all specialty areas. Additionally, multidisciplinary treatment planning for patients with complex treatment needs will be addressed during treatment planning boards. A monthly review of journals is conducted. Two of fifteen assigned patients are presented as treatment planning board cases and two are presented as medically compromised cases in formal conferences. Residents navigate through their comprehensive cases over two years.
