NDTS 2205 Neurodiagnostic Clinical Science

This course provides training on the International Classification of Seizures and Epilepsies, patterns associated with the various forms of Epilepsy, recognition of clinical seizures, non-epileptic events, and disorders that may be clinically similar such as syncope. Also covered are the clinically relevant antiepileptic medications used in the treatment of epilepsy. The course includes an introduction to relevant neurological disorders and their accompanying EEG patterns. This includes encephalopathies, infectious disorders, brain tumors, cerebrovascular disorders, headaches and head traumas and other pertinent neurological disorders. This course also includes an introduction to Neurodiagnostic procedures that include Long Term Monitoring of Epilepsy, Evoked Potentials, Polysomnography and OR Monitoring.
