PHO 517 Pharmacology of Regenerative Medicine
Regenerative Medicine addresses the repair or replacement of damaged tissues using biological pharmaceuticals. The course will provide an introduction to regenerative medicine concepts followed by regenerative pharmacology of the hematopoietic system, of the central and peripheral nervous system, and of other tissues. Each of the focused section will start with an overview of pathologies that lead to specific tissue degeneration followed by lectures on current pharmacological interventions and concluding with the review of two current publications for each section. There will be three exams.
