PSY 4530 Operational Psychiatry

Operational Psychiatry includes the responsibilities of serving as a clinician to individual service members and as a psychiatric consultant to commanding officers on matters that may affect the psychiatric outcomes of thousands of service members. Students will gain experience in the clinical, administrative, and leadership skills required of a medical officer to effectively function as part of an operational unit.

This rotation may include (not a fully inclusive listing): command consultations, individual servicemember or group performance evaluations, and clinical and/or inpatient clinical consultations in military and/or operational communities.
