DLBT 3201 Extraoral Prosthetics: Clinical Foundations and Moulage

This advanced, post-associate course focuses on the clinical and laboratory procedures required to fabricate extraoral and somatic maxillofacial prostheses. Students will master the specialized materials, safety protocols, and techniques needed to capture and replicate complex facial anatomy, including nasal, auricular (ear), and full-facial structures (moulage). Emphasis is placed on cross-disciplinary infection control, advanced impression-taking methodologies, and the critical thinking required to manage compromised tissue sites resulting from trauma, surgery, or congenital conditions.
