ETAL 3311 Common Faculty Development

This course provides students with the knowledge, ability and skills to facilitate student instruction in a classroom setting. Students complete scenarios simulating classroom situations, a final practicum and presentation applying instructional competencies in accordance with the established rubric. Topics include: effective instructional competencies, classroom management techniques, cognitive domains, affective domains, Kolb learning styles, Experiential Learning Model (ELM), motivation, Lewin Change Management Model, critical thinking, groupthink, ADDIE Model, Accountable Instructional System (AIS), Bloom’s taxonomy, mental models, framing, target audience, GAP, and resource analyses, instructional methods, strategies, test item validation, assessment, and evaluation.
