PVNT 2205 Mathematical Calculations in Health Physics

In this course students are introduced to the profession of Health Physics and refresh math skills through a combination of lectures and homework. The course builds on the foundational skills of algebra, statistics, translating units of measure, force and atomic decay, logarithms, and scientific notation necessary to perform the mathematical calculations throughout entire field of study. The course presents background in Health Physics and the reason for the control of radiation exposure. This course satisfies quantitative health science / mathematics general education requirements of the CAHS.
