RBB 453 Oral Medicine

This course reviews topics with respect to current trends and controversies. In addition to attending lectures, residents actively participate in this course via a series of 20-30 minute presentations given over the two-year period. All faculty members are invited to participate in these sessions, and may request topics to be covered by the residents. First year residents select oral medicine topics that they have encountered clinically with their assigned patients. This approach helps to relate medical conditions to clinical encounters, and provides for more interactive and personal presentations from the residents via a mix of clinical photographs, radiographs, and briefing slides. Second year residents are assigned textbook topics. This approach helps to prepare second year residents to challenge the ABGD written boards prior to graduation.
