RCC 3100 Dental Management of the Medically-Compromised/Medical Emergencies Seminar I

Case-based learning and peer presentations are utilized to highlight the significance of specific medical conditions and the proper dental management of affected patients.  Significant to the dental specialists are the drug-drug interactions; clinical treatment modifications; awareness of patient response to sedation, local anesthesia, stress etc.  The purpose of this course is to provide the resident with information at the familiarity level with the intention of applying this knowledge to the care of medically adjunctive patients.  In addition, proper management of medical emergencies is emphasized with use of presentations and mock scenario-based training.
