RGE 5311 Research Proposal Development and Scientific Writing

This course provides familiarity with development of a Research Proposal. Students focus on a research area of interest, begin to formulate Research Hypotheses, and will then be provided with instructions on how to search the literature on-line to locate, retrieve, and store references related to their topic area using key words and phrases. Students will outline the major topics and minor subtopics and then turn this outline into a written review, later adding the elements of Materials and Methods, Anticipated Results, where a flowchart of their experimental process as well as graphical depiction of their expected results will be presented. Lastly, each student will present an oral presentation on their Research Proposal, covering all major areas contained in their written proposal version.
