READMITTED OR REVERSE TRANSFER STUDENTS
Individuals who attend a CAHS program at a branch campus, additional location, or other instructional site and have not met degree requirements based on missing general education requirements will receive a certificate upon completion of the Service required Major Technical Field of Study. Students have a maximum of five years from their certificate date to transfer general education requirements (Reverse Transfer) or return to active status and complete the degree program. To be readmitted or returned to active status, students must meet the following criteria:
- Reverse Transfer Students must be actively affiliated with the DoD while currently performing duty in the specialty designation (Naval Enlisted Classification -NEC, Air Force Specialty Code - AFSC, Military Occupational Specialty -MOS) for the degree program sought (the specialty designation must not have been withdrawn by the Service Component or any other relevant authorities). Copy of current military orders must be submitted at time of re-admission for review;
- Submit a completed application;
- Submit official transcripts for new coursework earned after leaving the USU.
Note: Education and Training Administration and Leadership degree seeking students who depart before meeting all degree requirements are dis-enrolled and ineligible for award of the degree unless they officially return to an instructor duty position. An exception may be made due to extenuating circumstances beyond the student’s control and if a member has met all degree requirements prior to departure from instructor duty pending the Dean’s approval.
SECOND OR SUBSEQUENT DEGREES
Second and subsequent degrees will only be awarded based on distinct credits not previously used in an awarded degree. For a second BSHS degree, in addition to the program's major field of study courses a minimum of 18 of the required 42 semester hours of upper level credits must be hours not previously used in a CAHS awarded degree.
Degrees will be awarded based on transfer work as long as the individual does not already hold a degree at the same or higher level with the same major or specialization. Applicants that already hold a degree in the same program will be awarded college credit. Some locations will issue a certificate on completion.
