The Preventive Medicine program provides education and training in the major disciplines of preventive medicine operations to include: introduction to public health, public health communication, food service sanitation, aspects of water, deployment environmental surveillance program (DESP), medical threats, operational preventive medicine, and entomology. Army specific courses includes: chemical biological radiation nuclear event, industrial hygiene, and an Army field exercise. Navy specific courses include: public health administration, microbiology, biostatistics, epidemiology, medical parasitology, immunizations programs and vaccines, occupational safety and health, environmental sanitation, shipboard preventive medicine, and a Navy field exercise. This program provides graduates with technical skills and knowledge required to achieve public health specialist entry-level competencies. The program prepares the student to perform preventive medicine operations in both traditional and non-traditional preventive medicine practice settings.

This program holds specialized national accreditation that is maintained through the Medical Education Training Campus (METC).
