FLH 218 Hospital Dentistry Rotation
This off-service clinical rotation familiarizes the student with working in a hospital environment and includes instruction in patient history and physical examination, admission and discharge procedures, and documentation of doctor's notes and orders. Students gain exposure to venipuncture techniques, intravenous conscious sedation, administration of general anesthesia, and patient monitoring. They work in the operating room environment performing oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures as well as in the hospital dentistry suite.
