PSY 3345 Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Selective
This course occurs during the Clerkship year. Students DO NOT need to have completed their Psychiatry Clerkship to participate in this selective course.
This rotation allows one student/rotation, with some rotations not being available.
Goals and Objectives:
1. Participate in the comprehensive assessment and treatment of patients with behavioral, substance use and/or cognitive disorders who are enrolled in the WRNMMC Behavioral Health Intensive Outpatient Program.
2. Develop an understanding of the multidisciplinary approach to patient assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, and disposition planning.
3. Submit at least two written BRIEF but comprehensive psychiatric assessments (to include a defensible formulation, differential diagnosis, and treatment plan) in conjunction with an oral presentation and review of each report by the program attending.
