FLA 124 Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology
Basic radiology principles related to digital imaging, quality control, computer monitor calibration, MiPACS, panoramic technique and radiation safety are presented. During panoramic and CBCT labs the residents will practice ALARA radiology skill sets. Skull base anatomy, paranasal sinus and nasal cavity anatomy and abnormalities are reviewed for a better understanding and correlation between 2D and 3D images. Concepts for reviewing a CBCT and writing a small volume dento-alveolar interpretive report are introduced. Residents are exposed to a variety of CBCT findings. Quizzes, a mid-term exam and a final exam will be administered.
