The objective of this course is to highlight the importance of Genomics and Proteomics in biomedical research and drug discovery. With the recent completion of the human genome sequence and the fast speed at which the genomic sequences of many living human organisms are being deciphered, it is becoming increasing accepted that the functional analysis of not one, but rather subsets of genes, may provide the most meaningful gene profile definitions of a specific, biologically relevant process in living organisms
