MIL 4001 Military Medicine 200

Building on the foundations established in Military Medicine 100, Military Medicine 200 takes place in the post-clerkship period.  Military Medicine 200 incorporates content pertaining to Tactical Field Care (TFC), Forward Resuscitative Care (FRC), Prolonged Casualty Care (PCC), and EnRoute Care (ERC) before and during participation in Medical Field Practicum 201 or “Operation Gunpowder.” Later on, students participate in Military Field Practicum 202 or “Operation Bushmaster.”  Military Contingency Medicine (MCM) is a component of Military Medicine 200 and represents a ten-day preparatory program in support of “Operation Bushmaster,” which is a capstone assessment, encompassing the entire military unique curriculum, with application in a field environment with limited resources. Taken together, MCM and MFP 202 ensure that USU graduates enter internship and subsequent assignments with the finely-honed skills, experience, and character needed to take on the ever-changing challenges facing our men and women in uniform, across the globe.
