PHO 514 Principles of Pharmacology
This course covers basic pharmacological concepts and terminology. Topics include drug metabolism, receptor theory, mechanisms of action, and how drugs are discovered and tested in man. The course is offered to all interdisciplinary graduate programs and is especially important for students interested in careers in Drug Discovery or whose research projects involve specific drugs. Principles of Pharmacology also provides foundational knowledge for the more advanced Molecular Pharmacology and Neuropharmacology courses offered by the university.
