RBB 553 Sedation and Management of Medical Emergencies
Instruction in management of emergencies consists of lecture followed by practical exercises. Topics include enteral sedation, conscious inhalation sedation, intubation for general dentists, venipuncture techniques, emergencies in intravenous sedation. First year residents attend a two-day course in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Second year residents attend the 20-hour Advanced Trauma Life Support Course, and attend the 8-day Combat Casualty Care Course (C4) as funding permits.
