FAM 3141 Integrative Medicine
The goals of the four-week rotation are to: 1. Familiarize students with various integrative modalities, which may include frequency specific microcurrent, myofascial therapies, Avazzia®, acupuncture, low intensity laser therapy, extracorporeal shock wave therapy, pulsed electromagnetic frequencies and/or scrambler therapy. 2. Introduce students to a “whole person” approach to evaluation and management of patients with chronic pain and/or psychoemotional problems, which may include post-traumatic stress, depression or anxiety. 3. Allow students to learn how and when to use these various modalities with the ultimate goal of being able to incorporate integrative therapies into their clinical practice.
