PMO 763 Tutorial in Vector Biology and Parasitology
The purpose of this course is to continue aspects of Vector Biology & Parasitology beyond what was covered in core and elective classes. This continuation is accomplished through research into fundamentals of military relevant medically important (vector) and pest organisms (plants, mammals, birds, reptiles, and arthropods), and theories into prevention and control of these organisms. To elucidate these subjects, the faculty will prescribe a self-study based, literature review, ranging from individual aspects or a comprehensive overview of medical parasitology, pest and vector organism bionomics, pest/vector organism biology, pest/vector taxonomic descriptions, and/or pest/vector physiology. The students will meet with the faculty member for discussion of the material. All students will have a wide variety of current scientific articles to read and discuss.
