PROF 711 Advanced and Surgical Implantology
Building on “Implant Prosthodontics,” and “Complete Denture Prosthodontics” this course will prepare the resident for performing straightforward implant surgery, from surgical anatomy and case selection to final fabrication of implant-supported fixed restoration, using pig jaws and live patients. From that foundation, the course will cover implant-supported complete fixed dental prostheses, from surgical planning, guide and conversion prosthesis fabrication on cadaver heads, and a final restoration laboratory exercise. A portion of forensics and aspects of expeditionary dental skills will be taught during this time; the credits will be captured in “Intro to Military Dentistry.”
