SFMS 4505 Clinical Practicum I
This is the first course of three within the Special Operations Clinical Training (SOCT) program. Students are placed at one of twenty under-served hospitals or military treatment facilities around the United States. Students are paired with a fully licensed physician within the dermatology, pediatric, family practice, or preventative medicine section of the hospital. Under physician supervision and within the patient care team the student is required to perform all patient care activities and procedures in accordance with standard of care and physician direction. Students are involved in all aspects of patient care to include: patient evaluation, treatment, and education. All skills and knowledge are assessed through proctor evaluations, written assignments, and development of a case study presentation.
