NURS 7603 Principles of Point of Care Ultrasound for Anesthesia and Operational Medicine
This course introduces the principles and clinical applications of point-of-care ultrasound to support rapid diagnosis and bedside decision-making. Participants will develop foundational skills in ultrasound physics, image acquisition, and interpretation, with emphasis on common emergency, anesthesia, and critical care applications. Content includes gastric, airway, cardiac, and pulmonary ultrasound, as well as focused protocols such as the Rapid Ultrasound for Shock and Hypotension (RUSH) and Focused Assessment with Sonography in Trauma (FAST) examinations.
