DNTA 2504 Clinical Applications
This comprehensive course equips students with the foundational knowledge and practical skills essential for chairside dental assisting. The curriculum introduces four-handed dentistry and provides hands-on experience in general dental procedures, preventive care, and oral healthcare. Students will also explore various dental specialties, including prosthodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, and endodontics, detailing their specific duties, equipment, and supplies. A significant portion of the course is dedicated to dental radiology. Students will master radiation safety, infection control, and the function of radiographic equipment. Training covers exposure techniques for periapical (PA), bitewing (BWX), and panoramic radiographs, as well as landmark identification and quality control. Through practical application, students will learn to prepare treatment rooms and patients, culminating in the production of high-quality diagnostic images.
