NURS 8818 Bioethical Issues
This core course affords students the opportunity to explore complex bioethical issues that may arise when conducting research and in clinical practice. Foundational ethical theories and principles will be applied to research and clinical issues, including the use of human subjects and animals, as well as the governing regulations, laws, and policies. Interprofessional perspectives and the social determinants of health will be applied to analyze real-world ethical dilemmas. Contemporary controversies, such as emerging technologies and genetic engineering, will be addressed as they pertain to research and clinical practice. The course also includes the critical evaluation of healthcare challenges to identify current and potential ethical issues affecting research and clinical practice.
