RAD 4300 Radiation Oncology

Clinical Hands-On/Direct

Radiation Oncology is a fascinating and dynamic field that integrates physics, biology, anatomy, imaging and medicine. During this rotation students learn the appropriate diagnostic evaluation, staging, and prognosis of different cancers, as well as the indications and use of radiation therapy in their treatments. Students evaluate patients in clinic and develop a plan of care with the attending, following at least one patient per week through simulation and treatment. Students also attend teaching conferences and multidisciplinary tumor boards.
