NURS 5131 Inquiry into Statistical Methods, Evidence Based Practice and Scholarship
The course is a foundation of patient-centered evidence-based practice. In the course, the student will obtain the essential skills to perform a literature search, appraise the literature, and synthesize evidence to support clinical problems and solutions, along with understanding various EBP models. Additionally, the course introduces students to strategies identifying and applying measures in evaluating outcomes within an Evidence-Based Project and the statistical test(s) best used to determine effectiveness of an intervention. These applications will lead in the identification and development of a scholarly project to support the Defense Health Agency’s (DHA) Quadruple Aims of improved readiness, better health, better care and lower cost. At the end of this course, students will create an original draft of their DNP project background document and data analysis plan.
