NURS 5730 Doctor of Nursing Practice Practicum & Seminar in NP Practice III

This is the third in a series of three DNP clinical courses built upon the scientific, theoretical and clinical foundations taught during the first two years of the curriculum.  By the end of the year, students will be prepared to apply standards of practice and evidence-based research findings to the care of increasingly complex patients, populations and systems leading to improved practice and health care delivery.

In NURS 5730, emphasis is placed on expanding leadership and communication skills critical for improving healthcare outcomes, optimizing the function of interprofessional teams and care delivery. Pain, palliative care, and communicating difficult medical information will be the focus of didactic content that was coupled with complex clinical case reviews to expand critical thinking, interprofessional communication and decision making.
