Opticianry, A.S.H.S.

 

Overview

The Opticianry Program is designed to provide students with the basic training necessary to fabricate and dispense prescription eyewear in a clinical and field environment. Fabrication operations include spectacle surfacing and finishing. Students will also learn to assist in the treatment of ocular disorders and perform equipment inspection, maintenance, and repair on optical laboratory equipment and accessories.

 

Accreditation or Related Information: The Opticianry program is accredited through the Commission on Opticianry Accreditation (COA) as a one-year Ophthalmic Laboratory Technology Certificate Program.
