PHRA 1413 Community Pharmacy Practice
This course introduces students to elements of community pharmacy practice, including the processing, filling, dispensing prescriptions and updating records. Students learn to navigate within an electronic health record (EHR), the use of prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications to help treat patients, and are introduced to medical terminology, abbreviations, and frequently prescribed medications. Students will use pharmacy technology utilized within industry facilities and will model / simulate pharmacy technician duties in a notional community pharmacy environment.
