RBB 301 Periodontics 1

This course is designed to increase the resident’s competence in surgical and non-surgical periodontal therapy. Residents will learn current concepts as well as surgical and diagnostic principles during didactic sessions. The clinical phase of Periodontics Courses 301 and 302 will enhance the resident’s ability to competently diagnose and manage periodontal disease of varying levels of severity, evaluate the results of periodontal treatment and establish/monitor a periodontal maintenance program, manage the periodontal needs of patients requiring implants, manage post-surgical complications, diagnose and manage patients requiring crown lengthening procedures, and manage patients requiring soft tissue and/or grafts. Residents will also participate in hands-on laboratory courses in periodontal suturing, and in implant planning, placement, and restoration.
