SURI 3303 Preventive Medicine
This course is designed to teach students an overview of the Navy Occupational Safety and Health (NAVOSH) program and how to identify and treat infectious diseases, the management of the Preventive Medicine Programs and ensure potable water for a seagoing vessel. Topics include occupational safety control programs, transfer of potable water from a supply point to a vessel, procedures for testing potable water, calculations for disinfecting water, and extrapolating required halogen residuals for disinfection of potable water afloat.
