COMR 716 Restorative Dentistry 1
Restorative Dentistry Courses consist of didactic and clinical instruction in direct operative procedures and direct restorative materials. Topics covered include instrumentation, rubber dam and soft tissue management, medical model, amalgam restorations, composite restorations, adhesive dentistry, glass ionomer restorations, liners and bases, restoration of endodontically treated teeth, large direct restorations, polymerization/light curing, bleaching, microabrasion, and Class V restorations. Literature reviews and seminars on topics that reinforce what was discussed in lecture are also provided. Residents have dedicated operative clinical time throughout the year, and they also perform operative dentistry when appropriate in other specialties while treating comprehensive care patients.
