MCB 502 Current Research in Molecular and Cellular Biology
The objectives of this course are to train graduate students to (i) follow new developments and discoveries in the area of molecular and cell biology; (ii) critically analyze and evaluate the data, methods, and conclusions in research articles from primary literature and the data (or plans) of their own research projects; and (iii) present and communicate scientific data, concepts and ideas. Critical analysis and evaluation of BioRxiv pre-prints is performed by a group of students presenting their findings from the perspectives of both authors and peer reviewer. Group discussions will be moderated by senior students, course faculty and teaching assistants. Each student team finalizes their presentations prior to class. The entire group will be graded based on the quality of their presentation/analysis. A cumulative grade will be assigned to each student at the end of the semester.
