MCO 503 Cellular and Molecular Immunology
This advanced course is designed to extend knowledge in areas of immunology that are not extensively covered in the introductory course, with an equal emphasis on basic mechanisms of immunity and immune responses to specific pathogens. Assessment is focused on the understanding, interpretation, discussion and presentation of original papers. Each class will be structured around a lecture given by a USU faculty member or an invited guest lecturer who is an expert in the specific topic. A recent paper from peer-reviewed scientific literature will be assigned by the speaker and presented by a student. The entire student group will read and discuss this paper to critically evaluate the data figures and the conclusions of the authors.
