MCO 506 Advanced Microbial Genetics and Physiology
This literature-based advanced course is designed to provide the student with knowledge of concepts pertaining to the genetics, molecular biology, and physiology of microbes, with particular emphasis placed on the cell biology and genetics of pathogenic bacteria and yeasts. Most class sessions will be led by a USU faculty member or an invited guest discussion leader on a specific topic. A short lecture on the topic may be given and/or one or more review articles may be assigned. One to two papers from the peer-reviewed scientific literature will be assigned for a guided group discussion.
