NSO 505 Thinking Beyond Neuroscience: The Neurobiology of Disease Seen in the Bigger Picture
This course introduces the broader philosophical concepts and methodological implications that are inherently linked to neuroscience and neurobiological diseases. These foundational, occasionally underappreciated, aspects are what make possible the day-by-day practice and the continued development of the fields of neurology and neuroscience. The course will first present a core neuroscientific fact, focused on a disease-state or a behavioral or cognitive phenomenon, followed by a broader perspective implicating a methodological or philosophical context.
