NSO 511 Directed Studies in Advanced Statistics
The objective of this course is to understand the theory and practice of a wide range of biostatistical techniques and applications in order to use these tools in the student's own research, to learn and apply key concepts in Python and/or R to enable data analysis and visualization, and to choose and perform appropriate statistical or machine learning techniques for analyses of biomedical data and interpret their results. Students, in consultation with their program director and/or academic advisor, will identify a study plan to achieve these objectives. The study plan will be completed under the supervision of USU faculty, and the number of credits will be determined based on the scope and length of the plan.
