Overview

The Respiratory Therapy Technician Program is an associate degree granting respiratory care education program for Army and Navy personnel. Students will acquire the knowledge and skills to provide a wide range of therapeutic interventions to patients with pulmonary diseases in acute and chronic care settings. Students are introduced to anatomy and physiology, pulmonary pathologies, pharmacology, respiratory care therapies and modalities, and other respiratory related subjects. Training consists of lectures, group activities, demonstrations, hands-on instruction and clinical practice. Performance exercises, presentations, written examinations, and clinical/practicum evaluations are used to assess accumulation and retention of knowledge and skills.

Credentialing Information:  Graduates of the program will take the Therapist Multiple Choice (TMC) exam and the Clinical Simulation exam (CSE) through the National Board for Respiratory Care http://www.nbrc.org/ in order to obtain the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) national credential.

This program holds specialized programmatic accreditation that is maintained through the Medical Education Training Campus (METC).
