PRC 2005 Reproduction and Endocrinology Module

The reproduction and endocrinology module provides students with detailed knowledge of normal structure and function, pathology and treatment of disorders of the endocrine system and the male and female genitourinary systems.  Numerous activities are dedicated to clinical reasoning and skills, including medical simulation.  Related ethical and psychosocial issues are also discussed.  Students develop an understanding of female and male reproduction and are able to recognize common problems that arise and their treatment.  Pregnancy and childbirth are also covered.  Students are introduced to childhood development and growth.  They become familiar with normal and abnormal endocrine glands, working to understand diseases of the pituitary, adrenal, thyroid, parathyroid, and endocrine pancreas based on the underlying pathology and pathophysiology.
