FLB 104 Clinical Photography and Digital Imaging

Quality photographs are critical for orthodontic records, diagnosis, treatment planning, treatment progress, and treatment outcomes. Students are expected to become proficient in intraoral and extra-oral digital photography. These skills must be established very early in the residency to ensure that quality photographs, meeting the high standards of the American Board of Orthodontics, are obtained for each and every patient. These images will be used by the resident in case presentations and for medico-legal documentation. In keeping with advancing diagnostic technology, use and familiarization with a digital camera and computer video imaging is desired in order to enhance case presentations and didactic slide show presentations. The course is offered as a series of seminars and laboratory sessions.
