SFMS 4401 Surgical Anesthesia
This is the first of two courses devoted to anesthesia for the advanced practice provider. Classroom instruction includes an overview of general anesthesia, general anesthesia pharmacology, the physiological effects of anesthesia, pre-operative anesthesia processes and procedures, post-operative anesthesia process and procedures, troubleshooting adverse anesthesia reactions, and documentation. In addition, students perform pre-operative preparation, general anesthesia, and post-operative care.
