Overview
The Global Community Health Program prepares Civil Affairs Medical Sergeants to partner with communities worldwide, increasing stability and improving quality of life for civilians. They work to ensure US interests are represented and have a strong position when bargaining with foreign governments. They also protect civilians, reducing the root causes of instability. As part of Civil Affairs teams, they advise Commanders on what civilian communities abroad need in crisis zones, while distributing humanitarian aid. The Global Community Health program is a 92-week instruction emphasizing routine, emergency, veterinary, and preventive medicine civil-military operations. It fosters critical thinking skills, adaptability, and teamwork via didactic instruction, virtual interaction, discussion, and hands-on training.
