Advanced Tactical Provider, B.S.H.S

Overview

The Advanced Tactical Provider Program trains and qualifies selected Army noncommissioned officers as Special Forces Medical Sergeants and selected Sailors as a Special Operations Independent Duty Corpsman, teaching them the medical skills necessary to support the Special Operations Forces Mission by sustaining combat casualties and medical patients (both US and host nation) indefinitely during continuous combat operations in austere, hostile-fire environments without conventional casualty evacuation assets or resupply. The training builds significantly on the skills obtained in the Joint Special Operations Medical Training Center (JSOMTC) Special Operations Combat Medic Program, which is required for admission. The training significantly expands the clinical medical capabilities and knowledge needed to comprehensively manage any complex medical situation encountered while deployed overseas in support of military operations.
